My greatest shopping experience

Image
I am brand-crazy. I crave for Shopping ventures and the joy of exploring the new brands on the shelves of modern retail outlets delights me the most. I always get attracted towards stationery items like new kind of plastic folders, files, pouches, premium pens. More in mind are the art materials like paints, canvas and brushes. Groceries are my wife’s territory of course . I t is always a pleasure and pleasant experience to shop in Spencer’s in Ashok Nagar that too with the new green & orange interiors the ambience looks apt to attract me. I love creativity and art and look for artistic value in any shopping malls. This shop sports a new, grand and creative look with effective space utilization, attractive display boards with easy access to groceries. Customer service is friendly and very helpful and with a smiling face. The purchases are neatly packed and even brought to our vehicle parked outside. For me shopping in such friendly environment creates a feeling of comfort, exu

My obsession for Quality

My obsession for quality encompasses many things. It all originated from my desire to sketch and paint, and the passion for looking at anything as an art piece. It could be the way my launderer presses my attire or the spoken language many a folk resort to. I would bite fingers if I see those intolerable quality of Indian products and those badly laid roads and our dirties precincts. I am always attracted towards quality and quality conscious people. Quality and art are intertwined. It is magical word, it’s a passion, but its awful when I am denied it. It irritates me. My eyes always wander for finesse and grace in everything. When it come to my family I always insists my children to do their daily rituals neatly. Wanting to buy a guitar I went into a Musical shop which had an array of Indian musical instruments. I remember during my college days when I had bought an Indian guitar, the shopkeeper somehow sold it to me. But my conscience said that the workmanship was awfully poor, som
Violence and Obscenity in films - A dangerous trend It is a matter of great concern for the society to witness the current trend in quality of films which have hit a vulgar low as they are generously infested with violence and obscenity. More so it is pathetic that it is being justified in some of the forums also. Despite having gone down the ladder of decency one cannot also understand how these films escape the scissors of our censor officials. With the extensive commercialisation of the film industry the producers are left with no option but to frantically adopt every method to introduce violence and sex to sell their films. They obviously aim for greater returns for the money they had pumped in but conveniently forget the harm that it has already created for the society. Violence and sex in films pose great danger to the growth of our present generation who are already faced with other means to ruin their career. Violence is exhibited in all forms from risky stunts to homicides and

Hobbies in other forms

Hobbies emerging in other forms When we think of hobbies we always think about reading, stamp collecting, listening to music etc.. Can they be in other forms?. Yes. One such form is the internet which has taken the hobby world by storm and of course put the brakes on these conventional hobbies. Internet browsing which we wrongly think that it steals our prime time is actually not so. On the other hand it has to a larger extent been beneficial as a hobby. It has rightfully replaced many of the old hobbies since it can offer better information, knowledge, adventure and pleasure for the young and even the old. Having of course enormous advantages which could be obtained without much hue and cry and with just the click of a button, it is preferred to our conventional hobbies. We can say that like internet many hobbies are emerging in other forms which gets the acceptance of the present generation. Hence hobbies are not dying but are on the threshold of a new generation .
Is Chennai shining? It is very doubtful that with the present condition, Chennai can set a shining example of a performing and developing metropolitan city. Reasons are endless. For example, are we geared up to this sudden condition of water scarcity?. Pathetically no. Considering the gravity of the situation and the plight of the city dwellers it is very hard to think of “Chennai shining” in any way. The urgent need of the hour is water, which is woefully inadequate for our day-to-day requirements. Shortly it might overshadow the small progress were are making in other fields. Government should do something about this. Other deplorable conditions follow, like increasing pollution, violation all basic civic responsibilities by the public and Government and so on. These conditions have lowered Chennai’s credibility as a city which once boasted of its Marina, the second longest beach in the world. The continuous in flow of people from other states is threatening the resources like powe
